Javier Durán Micco
Biography
Dr. Javier Durán Micco is a postdoctoral researcher at the Vrije Universiteit Brussel (VUB) since 2021. He holds a Master degree on Industrial Engineering, obtained at the University of Concepción (UdeC), Chile. Then, he obtained a PhD degree in Engineering Science at KU Leuven, under the supervision of Prof. Pieter Vansteenwegen. There, his research focussed in the design and application of metaheuristic algorithms to solve the problem of designing public transport network. Immediately after obtaining his PhD degree, he joined MOBI, as coordinator of the DISpATch project (Digital Twin for SynchromodAl Transport)., led by Prof. Cathy Macharis.
