Marc Van Overmeire

Marc Van Overmeire is professor emeritus at the VUB ; he still teaches the following courses : Process Safety (part of Reliability of industrial installations) and Piston engines at Bruface (VUB/ULB) , Opsporen en Beheer van Risico’s (VUB-INDI) and Advanced Technology (VUB/Solvay) . He also lectures at the KULeuven and Prevent (Leuven). Other activities are Board member of Certifer-Belgorail and HHC/DRS, chairman of Advisory committee of Certifer-Belgorail, chairman of the advisory committee of Hive Electric and chairman of Agoria scriptieprijs. Some previous jobs were : Head of department of Mechanical Engineering (VUB), COO of AIB-Vinçotte International, CRO Of Vinçotte , Chairman of Safety committee of the Vinçotte group and of the board of Vinçotte Nederland, Reliability and risk manager and  EDP manager of Vinçotte,  Reliability engineer at Ford (Lommel Proving Ground and Dearborn USA)

He graduated as electromechanical engineer (VUB 1976) and holds a Ph.D. in Applied Sciences (VUB 1983).
