Marjolein Deryck
Biography
Marjolein Deryck is a part-time postdoc researcher at the Vrije Universiteit Brussel, Belgium. She obtained her PhD in 2022 on the subject of the application of knowledge base systems in practice. Her research interest is in making logic based systems better suited to solve real-life problems. Currently her focus is on preference learning for tacit knowledge acquisition and explanations. In addition, she has a part-time assignment as researcher at a start-up company that is commercializing one of the prototypes that she developed during her PhD research. Prior to the start of her PhD research, she worked for ten years in the financial sector in various roles.
